They talk about how they're so exhausted by working 4 jobs (on occasion even 5) that they say, it's just like being a parent. I just had to shake my head and explain that no matter how many jobs you work it's not like being a mom. I don't get to call in sick. I don't get a day off--even just one--and my work follows me around (sometimes literally) no matter where I go (like the bathroom, the shower, the kitchen...). Getting 3 hours to myself per day is my "time off." I work nights and every weekend. What I would want for a REAL mother's day gift is like 8 hours of completely uninterrupted sleep. Anywhere. One whole day to just get done the things I want done, and at the end of the day, sleep without waking up to nurse. But, hey. I'll take the pearls and massage.
